The Proposal

The proposal summarised

  • Comprises up to twelve turbines, with a maximum tip height ranging between 150m and 180m with a capacity of around 60MW (megawatts)

  • Will aim to co-locate battery storage and ground-mounted solar PV with the wind farm to maximise the use of the grid connection

  • Will offer a community benefit fund, that will be developed and shaped by local people

  • Is located approximately 2km from Patna in an area that benefits from an excellent win resource and does not have any landscape designation restricting development

  • Bird and other ecological surveys have commenced and other technical assessments are ongoing

    An application was lodged with The Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU) in June 2022 and all the documents can be found online here Ref: ECU00004523 The project was Consented by Ministers on 30 April 2025. All documents relating to the planning submission and the Consent now granted, can be viewed on the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit (ECU) website. The developer is now proposing some revisions to the location of the substation and the battery storage: these will be subject to a Section 36C Application regarding the Variation Proposed.
